What do I actually get for my submission fee?
Every script that reaches our Finalist or Winner stage receives a comprehensive 10-point professional analysis covering concept, pacing, character arc, dialogue and more. Winners and Finalists also receive a diploma and the official laurel. The best scripts of each season are pitched directly to our network of festival partners.
Can I submit in Italian?
Yes. Scripts can be written in English or Italian. An Italian script needs an English title and logline on the entry form, so the whole international jury can read it.
Which file formats are accepted?
PDF or Microsoft Word. Industry-standard screenplay formatting is recommended.
Can I enter one script in several categories?
Yes. Formats set the page limits; every genre and special category is open to all formats. The Priority Review add-on includes unlimited categories for one script.
How does the Priority 48-hour Review work?
Submit to Priority Review and receive your official selection status within exactly 48 hours. Your script stays fully eligible for the top awards and genre prizes; you simply skip the waiting line.
What is the Venice Script Market?
An open showcase of unproduced screenplays, where producers, directors and managers come to find their next project. Add it to any submission to put your script on the shelf: anyone in the industry can browse it and ask us about it.
Can I replace my script with a newer draft?
No. An entry cannot be swapped for a newer draft. To send a revised version, make a new submission.
Who owns my script after I submit?
You do, entirely and at all times. Your full script is read by our jury and partner evaluators only, and it goes to nobody else without your permission.
What scores make a Winner or a Finalist?
Category Winners score 7.5 or above. Official Finalists score up to 7.4. Both receive the diploma, the laurel and the 10-point analysis.
Are fees refundable?
No. Entry fees are not refunded once a submission is complete.
